Abstract:
(Critical) This program discusses the effects of stress on an individual's daily performance and overall health. Stress is attributed to one's perceptions of events, rather than the events themselves. Various measures for coping with daily life pressures are illustrated and associated with the ramifications of their use. Although the means by which individuals and organizations both create and dispell stress are discussed, no specific suggestions to improve stress management are provided. Audio and visual quality are excellent. The program probably should have discussed fewer areas in greater depth; the pace is slow and the content somewhat redundant. This is an elementary overview of an important, relevant subject; although not really appropriate for medical students, it is recommended for a broad range of general audiences.
