Abstract:
(Critical) This program presents a discussion of the pathophysiology of hypertension its clinical management. Areas that require therapy are outlined and types of therapy are discussed. The presentation is well done, however, alternate viewpoints are not dealt with; more recent concepts in the management of hypertension are never broached; and some opinions are stated in an oversimplified fashion. Thus, the program is recommended with reservations for cardiologists and practitioners of internal medicine.
