- Part of a correspondence series between Fogarty, Sidney Yates, Dr. Whedon and Mrs. Strauss, regarding diabetes research and the plight of mothers of diabetic children, illustrates how congressional colleagues called on Fogarty when their constituents asked questions related to medical research, and how Fogarty, in turn, depended on his NIH contacts to help with such queries.
