A man wearing boxing gloves and a black shirt and shorts, with large "GVF" letters in yellow on his chest, is standing next to a young woman in a Red Cross nurse's uniform, his right arm linked to her left. His head is bandaged and he has two cross-shaped adhesive bandages on his face. He is wearing a red hat. According to Zwerdling's Postcards of nursing, p. 166, Littoriali della Cultura e dell'Arte was a Fascist organization; the littoriali belonged to the GVF (Gruppi Universitari Fascisti - Fascist University Groups) and sponsored the sports medicine convention.
