Dr. Atalay begins with some interesting anecdotes. He gives a brief biography of Leonardo, including that he was left-handed. The other Leonardo discussed is Leonardo Fibonacci. Fibonacci was responsible for developing numbers in a series, the Fibonacci series. Dr. Atalay summarizes the Golden Ratio, the Golden Rectangle and the Golden Spot. The Golden Ratio is 1.618034, or phi. He also notes the logarithmic spiral, as well as the Golden Ratio, Golden Rectangle, and the Golden Spot, are favored by nature. Dr. Atalay applies these numbers to portraits and buildings, such as the Parthenon and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. He then applies these to Leonardo's designs of the helicopter, the parachute, the bicycle, and then Dr. Atalay uses Röntgen's x-ray to apply the numbers to a hand. In addition, he analyzes the Mona Lisa.
