This photo accompanied Part 3 (27 September 1946) of Gorman's report on Oklahoma state psychiatric hospitals. The caption on the back of the photograph reads: "The central kitchen at Western Oklahoma hospital was the dirtiest of any mental institution visited in the state. Foot-long gaps in the floor, broken pipes, a shed-like ceiling which keeps out all air, and dirty rags strewn about make it a health menace.". NOTE: The original photograph was retouched to obscure the faces of the people in the photograph.
