In the middle of the race to discover the genetic code, Nirenberg worked steadily toward its completion. This program from a neo-abstract art exhibit at the Obelisk Gallery includes handwritten codon combination possibilities on the outside cover, which suggest that Nirenberg did not confine his work to the laboratory.
