Abstract:
Crick and Brenner had been joint heads of the Division since 1962. The change in name reflected the shift in the Division's focus from the elucidation of DNA structure and the genetic code, to investigations by which genes control the development and diversification of cells.. NOTE: The list of references has been left off the end of the report.
