She studied medicine at Yenching University, Pekin, at Brussels and at London. She has practiced medicine in China, Hongkong and in Malaysia where for the last 10 years she has worked under her real name: Dr. E.K. Combar. Han Suyin's novels and short stories, Particularly " A Many-Splendourded Thing, are known the world over.
