- A small coast guard ship has pulled along side a small boat suspected of transporting drugs. Verso: WHO/8609. Hong kong - Drug Addiction. Opium Hunt. Hong Kong is one of the world exchange centres of the drug traffic. The Police, accompanied by specially trained dogs seek out the dope peddlers and opium smokers and pursue them. Doctors and educators work hand in hand with the police to stop the trade and lead addicts back to health. Addition control involves more than police operations. The coast guards keep a strict watch. They stop and search suspected vessels. For as long as the suspected vessel is anchord in the port of Hong Kong, inspectors remain on board.
