A special issue of World Health shows nurses north, south, east and west working in different branches of the profession. Nurses from the staff of one of the most modern hospitals in the world, Karolinska in Stockholm, were interviewed by World Health. The nurse is more and more becoming the doctor's co-worker and her responsibilities are many and various. Brigitta Jernberg (left) is specialized in caring for old people. She studied nursing for four years. After working for a while in a urological clinic she was transferred to the geriatric service of the Karolinska.
