Interior view: a mother is sitting on a bed with her child who is connected to an intravenous drip containing rehydration fluids. Verso: WHO15366. Searo. Cholera. SM7-1976. Cholera and other diarrhoeal diseases cause rapid dehydration of the victim's body fluids- a condition which, unless checked in time, can prove fatal, especially for small children. Where formerly an intravenous drip had to be given at a clinic, today there is increasing use of fluids which can simply be drunk from a cup.
