A young child is drinking special fluids prepared to combat dehydration, resulting from diarrheal diseases, without the use of an intravenous connection. Verso: WHO/17344. SERO. Cholera. SM 7-1976. Cholera and other diarrhoeal diseases cause rapid dehydration of the victim's body fluids - a condition which, unless checked in time, can prove fatal. especially for small childre. Where formerly an intravenous drip had to be given at a clinic, today there is increasing use of fluids which can simply be drunk from a cup.
