Abstract:
(Critical) Childhood and adolescent sexuality is the topic of this program. Two facilitators discuss with a group of five 11 year olds various aspects of emerging sexuality including the where and when young people learn about sex, what their sex concept is, their sexual feelings, and the relative discomfort when talking about them. The impact of the program could be improved by a better definition of the objectives and particularly by highlighting some of the issues borne out by the discussion group. Nevertheless, this program is recommended for use in the early training stages of psychiatric nurses and child psychiatrists.
