Examines the rights of women under different legal systems throughout the world, control of women's choices by men and by religiously-influenced institutions, and the efforts of female activists and lawyers to obtain justice, equality, and autonomy over their bodies for women worldwide. A conference of female lawyers at the Airlie Center in Airlie, Virginia is profiled, with representatives from Ghana, France, Iran, Tunisia, the United States, Sweden, the Philippines, and other nations discussing legal and patriarchal barriers to choice and how they intend to change laws to allow women to make their own decisions about family planning, contraception, and abortion. Filmmaker Murdock Head is seen speaking to the assembled group.
