Illustration of an open book showing two drawings of the human body. One drawing contains the various organs of the human body labeled in Latin, while the facing illustration contains double lines that indicate channels of qi/ki flow in the body, sometimes called acupuncture meridians. These were misinterpreted in the West as evidence of East Asian ignorance of anatomy. Specimen medicinae Sinicae, pls. 1 & 2.
