- One black and white photograph from a series of 25 on the topic of the Angel Island Immigration Station in California. This photograph shows Asian immigrants being examined for trachoma. Typed caption on photograph verso: Examining aliens at the Immigration Station, Angel Island, California. Medical officers are shown making the physical examination with three ward orderlies on the right and the interpreter on the left may be seen between Assistant Surgeon Geyer and the alien whose lid he is turning. Taken September 1931. The room used is one of the wards in the Immigration Station hospital.
