In the center of an ornate room in the U.S. capital are two lighted chandeliers and a large t-shaped table. Between two windows is a mirror reflecting one of the chandeliers. There are wall hangings of women. On the table are green felt rectangles, papers, binders, pitchers, and water glasses. Among others seated at the table are Charles Mc Mathias, a senator from Maryland, and Richard Schweiker, a senator from Pennsylvania. At the center left side of the table are Drs. Donald S. Fredrickson, director of the National Institutes of Health, Donald B. Tower, director of the National Institute for Neurological and Communicative Disorders and Stroke, Richard Krause, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and David Scott, director of the National Institute for Dental Research.
