Members of the House Health Subcommittee, clad in surgical garb, tour the cancer surgical wing. Drs. Steven A. Rosenberg, chief of surgery at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Donald S. Fredrickson, director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are the representatives' tour guides. Those on the tour include Paul G. Rogers, from Florida, Tim Lee Carter, from Kentucky's 5th district, Henry Waxman, from California's 29th district, Lunsford Richardson Preyer, from North Carolina's 6th district, and James Scheuer, from New York's 8th district.
