It is a way of thinking and living that promotes the health and welfare of the family group and thus contributes to economic and social development. In Denmark a doctor gather information on women's experience with various contraceptive methods. WHO's role in research includes helping national health administrations to investigate the family planning needs of the community. The approach to information and education about family planning has to be adapted to the community and to the individual.
