- A woman, about to sneeze, is holding a tissue to her nose. Verso: WHO/15250- 15291. General Immunology. Hay fever is more frequent in spring, when flowers bloom ans pollen ans dust are in the air. Certain families seem to have a tendency toward allergic disease. Studies have shown that is one parent has an allergy his child has one chance in five of developing an allergic disease. If both parents are allergic the child has two chances in five of developing an allergy.
